Summer Camp 2024

 

We offer lots of opportunity for all to be creative and shine on stage. Kids of all ages learn to collaborate, gain confidence and self-esteem as they work on a musical play, which they present in front of a live audience.The show includes a final production performed each session (every 2 weeks). Which includes mics, lights, music and costumes.

All children will benefit from the skills they learn at Cabaret Kids but particularly those who are shy, have anxiety or lack confidence.

In our bi-weekly camp video, the campers will learn what it is like to work behind the camera and be in a film. Past campers said they loved the experience of being filmed in our camp movie.

Campers will be part of all our activities, participate in a weekly talent show & enjoy our theme days. We often hire actors to come to our theme days as per the activity planned for that event.

Should your child be shy or have anxiety about performing, they will never be forced or put on the spot. Our experienced staff have a soft approach to encourage and build trust & confidence throughout week one (of a session) and thus preparing your child for week 2 show. Your child may also want to get involved in backstage stuff, (stage manage or lighting, sound) or help to create the props needed for our performance. There is so much creativity to tap into and so much that can be learned and enjoyed at camp.

 

 

Summer Camp Dates: June 25th- August 16th- 2024

 

 Camp Sessions: 

(Due to the 2 legal holidays week 1,2 camp will end at 4:00pm to make up the days lost)

Session 1– Week 1 & 2 – June 25-June 28/ July 2 -July 5.

Session 2- Week   3 & 4 – July 8- July 12/ July 15 – July 19.

Session 3- Week   5 & 6– July 22- July 26/ July 29– Aug 2.

Session 4- Week   7 & 8– Aug 5– Aug 9/ Aug 12- Aug 16.

 

 

 

 CAMP FEES/HOURS & EXTENDED HOURS

  • Camp hours –9:00am- 3:00pm. 
  • Camp weekly fee $265.00 (See if you qualify for early bird savings below)
  • $25.00 1x registration fee(sent along with your online form).
  • Extended hours:  7:30-9:00a.m. & 3:00-6:00p.m
  • Special Fee $35.00 per week full service 7:30-6:00.
  • Pay as you use our service $4.00 per hour. Should you choose this option, we ask that you take care of this in advance, on the day you use the service..
  • Discounts on siblings
  • Anyone traveling from areas over 20 minutes away will be given extra early am or pm time at camp for free
  • FREE Campers that have finished grade 8, will not be charged extended or early am hours.

 

  • You can choose to come to camp for one week or pick an odd number of weeks to accommodate your summer schedule.
  • Note that every 2 weeks goes together with a final performance, at the end of a 2-week session.
  • Should you come a week where your child is not in the show, there will be plenty of activities to participate in during that week. In art they will help make props, as well as enjoy doing crafty activities. They will also be part of the weekly talent show!

 

SIBLING DISCOUNTS:

  • Receive $10.00 deduction off your fees for sibling (2nd child), discount per every 2-week session your children are registered. (Minimum of 2 weeks required for promotion. )
  • Sibling discount cannot be combined with early bird savings.

 

A RELEVE 24 TAX RECEIPT WILL BE MAILED OUT TO YOU AT TAX TIME. YOU CAN SAVE MONEY ON YOUR CAMP FEES BY CLAIMING THIS EXPENSE . MAKE SURE TO FILL THE ONLINE FORM OUT PROPERLY AND CONTACT US WITH YOUR SIN NUMBER.

Early Bird Registration-

Register by February 8, 2024, and receive a 5% savings. 

(Minimum of 2 weeks required)

Fees &Payments 

  • To receive the discount, you need to pay 1 week of camp $265.00- 5%=$251.75 plus the 1x registration fee $25.00 .Total $276.75  by Feb 8,2024.
  • The balance of fees is due March 8, 2024. Should you miss this deadline fees remain $265.00 per week.
  • Balance of fees are due March 8,2024
  • Registering for 8 weeks can pay in three instalments and receive the savings.
  • You can change your weeks as needed with no penalty.
  • After Feb 8 regular camp fees apply weekly ($265.00).

 

Option 2:

 

  • Secure your spot without paying any fees except for the 1x $25 .00 registration fee along with your online registration form. You will need to pay 1 week of camp April 1, 2024, to continue to hold your spot and the balance June 1, 2024.
  • You can select your sessions for camp now and change them without any penalty.
  • Should you need a different payment plan please call or e-mail us.

HOT LUNCHES:

Hot Lunches are available 5 days a week  Cabaret kids Hot lunches on Wed & Fri

 3 Soeurs Hot lunches on Mon. Tues. Thurs.(see below)

BBQ $11.00 per day ($22.00 = 2 days)

 

Wednesdays: *Hot dogs (We make a BBQ- LaFleur’s hotdogs, chips, snack & drink)

*A veggie option is available should you be kosher or a vegetarian.

 

 Fridays: *Pizza, (cheese)chips, snack, and drink.

 

Note: You may send lunch fees in a separate payment for June 1 for “Cabaret Kids hot lunches “or include it with your fees when you register. But please reserve the lunches as soon as you register to avoid disappointment. You can choose to wait till your child is in camp to pay the hot lunch  but it will be accepted based on availability.

 

*It is always important to send extra snacks and drinks (water bottle) with your child

C.I.T./CAMPER PROGRAM 

(Kids that have completed Grade 8)

This program caters to kids that want to do the camp show and take part in some of their favorite activities, but also want freedom and extra responsibilities working with younger campers.  Many 14- or 15-year-olds are in-between not really wanting to do much all summer. Come join us at camp and gain knowledgeable & experience, learn life changing skills as you work with our younger campers and are guided by our senior staff and director.   This program is designed to do both. The camper/CIT will go on placement for 1.5 hours per day learning the skills it takes to be a Cabaret staff and still be able to enjoy the activities they love.  They can choose the things they would like to do at camp such as Drama, Dance, Vocal, film or Art, as well as be part of our final production.

You will also make lasting friendships and gain enough experience for future.

Fees $195.00 per week

 Senior C.I.T. Program:  

 

Senior C.I.T ‘S will be placed in a group with kids as an apprentice to a senior counselor.  The purpose of the CIT program is for young people to develop leadership skills, learn how to interact and take care of children in the role of the counsellor, and to become sensitive to the needs of the campers. The hopes are that they will be a good role model, as they help to organize games & activities once they develop new skills. They will be able to properly guide and support their campers making their experience a positive one. There will always be direction and guidance as needed.

C.I.T ‘S will be well supervised by the senior counsellor in charge but will develop a sense of responsibility. Often CIT’s will work with our youngest groups, unless they have a hidden talent and request to be on a specialty at our camp.

Being a CIT at camp requires the youth to be a mature and responsible individual. (This is not a recreational program). There will be weekly assessments of each C.I.T’ S development throughout the summer, so that each learner has a chance to improve & try out newly learned skills. This is recommended for teens that do not want to be part of our show, love camp life and have a keen interest to work with kids and to gain an incredible experience for future employment.

(FEE: $140.00/Week)

  Activities offered at Cabaret Kids Camp:

 

  • Vocal: POP singing,: Karaoke , Voice Training, Learn Harmonies, Song Writing (at lunchtime)

All Cabaret campers will experience all of our activities. Should a camper have more interest in a specific activity, the schedule could be modified.

 

 


Drama & Vocal

  •  Improvisation and theatre games/learn stage direction & acting skills
  • Have a blast dressing up in costumes and creating skits as well on working on your show
  •  In vocal we sing songs as we focus on material from the select play we will be presenting that session.
  • Pop songs sung karaoke style, so everyone can participate and feel like a star!

In drama we work on musicals that change up every two weeks.  Each child receives a part in our show, and will learn songs , dances, stage direction, & characterization. Every camper will develop their acting skills , gaining so much confidence. We work together to create a final presentation bringing the best out of each child!

 

 

 Each activity is instructed by a specialist in their trained field.

Private and semi private vocal lessons are available at camp (inquire).


Dance

Campers will learn many styles of dance: Dance specialists will teach dances to latest hit songs. Each group will learn their own funky dance, as well as many musical numbers that our part of our show presented very 2 weeks.

 Arts & Crafts: 

Enjoy all medias of art. Children will work on weekly projects &  be proud of their art creations. Many kids have an interest in designing props.  Learn how to make  props that will be a part of our show.

  • Kids will Sing a favourite song in a group

  • Compose music to go with your song
  • Create your final version of the song you wrote, plus perform at our show

      WATER ACTIVITIES

Pool (optional)

We offer an outdoor pool 10 minute walk from our location or onsite water activities such as slip n’slide.

  • Swim (optional 2x a week)
  • Life guards on premises (free swim no instructional swim)
  • Water activities on site.
  • Non swimmers will have a blast with our slip n’ slide and water games.

Refund Policy

All refund requests must be addressed in writing. Please  send by email only. Also, please know that we provide refunds for full weeks only. To be eligible for a refund, the Refund request must be received at least 10 days before the start of the activity/ies you wish to cancel. Refunds will be issued within 30 business days after reception of the e-mail, by check only. A 15 percent administrative fee applies to all cancellations.
